Toronto 2

The next day the weather wasn't so wonderful. It was misty and mellow.  I showed up at the hostel at 10 am to make sure I got in for the night. I decided Toronto was worth 3 days so I elected to see the harbour islands first. All the way down to the water but first through the Eaton Centre. Nice architecture, but it was just a standard shopping mall.

The ferry trip and islands are very pleasant. I imagine this must be a favourite retreat of Toronto residents.

There are cycling paths but I'm too lazy to get a bike so I just walk. I fed the remainder of my golden raisins to the seagulls and snoozed a while on a bench.

Back at the hostel I tried to get passengers to share fuel costs by posting a notice on the bulletin board. Didn't work. The only place I got help with fuel was Prince Edward Island. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Toronto YH is a big city hostel so it is hard to meet and get to know people well.

There is a 5 Star outlet for half-price tickets so I bought one for Kismet, an American musical adaptation from the 40's of Borodin's music.  Very freely adapted, no doubt.  It is loaded with bad puns. The poet meets Omar Khayyám at one point. Omar? Khayyám. Ugh. But it was a lot of fun. Baubles, bangles and beads, anyone?
